Spam in an unusual topic for a gambling information web site like our; however we can't refrain to rejoice being ourselves victims of the electronic plague of the internet era.

Every web site with interactive services has to publish its contact information on web pages. This information is picked up by software programs and ends up in alleged "opt-in" lists scumbags like Soloway use.

Our spam filters manage an average of 1,000 spam emails per email address every day. With over 10 active email addresses one can understand our joy in learning of the arrest of Robert Alan Soloway.

Robert Alan Soloway and his company, Newport Internet Marketing, have been charged with mail fraud, identity theft, fraud and money laundering.

Soloway advertised a mass e-mail service that sent messages to an opt-in list of addresses, but didn't actually use such a permission-based list, the indictment says. He also sold software products that customers could use themselves to send out mass e-mails.

According to the indictment Soloway used programs and many different proxy computers in an effort to hide the source of the messages.

The 27-year-old "Spam King" faces fines of over US$700,000. We believe a fair additional punishment would be to have his email addys spammed for life
