Diplomat stars in gay XXX porn movie DVD

Tel Aviv - Diplomats may be meant to be good actors on occasion, but an employee of Israel's consulate in New York may possibly have gone too far.

He moonlighted as a star in gay porn movies to supplement the salary from his day job at the Israeli representation, the Israeli Ma'ariv daily reported on Friday.

The employee, identified only as "D", has since the discovery left the job in the consulate's administration department, Ma'ariv said.

A spokesperson for Israel's foreign ministry in Jerusalem declined to comment on the affair.

But Ma'ariv said it added to embarrassment caused to Israel's diplomatic corps by an incident earlier this year, in which Israel's ambassador to El Salvador was found drunk, naked, handcuffed and gagged with a rubber ball in his mouth in the yard of his San Salvador residence by local police guarding the villa.

The ambassador was relieved from his posting and recalled after that incident in late February. - Sapa-dpa
