Sex Tape Battle Resolved Kim Kardashian

Sex Tape Battle Resolved Kim Kardashian

Model Kim Kardashian paid large sum of money in a legal settlement with Vivid Entertainment.

After so many sex tape scandals in the past few years, you would think people have learned their lessons, but apparently not. Model, stylist and former girlfriend of singer Ray J, Kim Kardashian, has recently won a $5 million legal battle against Vivid Entertainment, the adult video distributor who released a homemade sex tape of Kardashian and Ray J. While sources are in conflict over the exact settlement payment amount, it is clear that the legal battle, which begain in February, has been settled.

Kardashian, who is the daughter of O.J. Simpson's former defense attorney, the late Robert Kardashian, and the stepsister of Brody Jenner, guest star on The Hills and former beau of Kristin Cavallari of Laguna Beach, claimed in February, when she filed the lawsuit, that the release of the video, entitled "Kim Kardashian Superstar," was a violation of her "right to privacy." She claimed that she was "hurt and embarrassed" by the tape's leak.

Co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment, Steven Hirsch, on the other hand, released a statement saying that he believed that Vivid had the right to distribute the video. "We've always wanted to work something out with Kim so she could share in the profits," he added.

Kardashian, who lives in L.A., released a fitness video in March, and also briefly had a fling with Nick Lachey in 2006.
